A Tell Tale Heart

We’ll be using the first 2/3rds(ish) of the workshop to make a zine start to finish. What is a zine? Originally the word ZINE as used in place of magazine, evolving into a self-published magazine in small circulation. Today it is used the same, in addition to a term used by Artists as they refer to small single artistic sheets turned into books. a small original art magazine if you will.

This Zine will tell the tale of a heart broken free to roam on adventure. Dee Dees sample zine is based upon the relationship she shares with her husband, but the way this class has been structured will allow you to make changes & personal choices for your story. 

This zine ends up 4.25″ x 3.5″ with 6 inside pages, or 3 double page spreads & a front & back cover.

A Kit will be provided ($75 retail value) with the following:

• A whole slew of delicious ephemera
• Bones MASH
• Potty People MASH
• Layered Anatomic Heart
• Geotags
• Ravens in Flight MASH
• Vintage Watch Dividers
• 1x roll of Old Tape
• Numbers Diecuts
• +whatever else she feels… lol

There will be a certain amount of sharable supplies in addition to the list above. 

Please bring with you your standard art kit: 

• Non-stick craft mat, glue stick (uhu etc) 
• wet adhesive (like fabri-tac or fabri-fix) 
• permanent black pens (micron or faber castell) 
• palette knife
• book clips 
• scissors
• paintbrushes
• paint markers
• your art brain and anything else you think will make a great addition to your zine!

There are enough supplies in the kit that we can use the remaining portion of the workshop as a free play to build your own zine, hone some of the mixed media techniques learned.

You will be able to shop the UmWowStudio popup shop and or anything your artsy heart desires.

Complementary drinks by B&M & Snacks provided by Dee Dee. 

There is a built in break for lunch & loads of local places to choose from.
